When did baseball players and managers start arguing calls with umpires?

You know how in baseball a player might think hes safe or out or the ball was too high, low, outside, inside and in the dirt and was still called a strike? How long have they been arguing calls with umpires? When did this start?|||Players and managers have most likely been arguing calls with umpires since the very beginning.|||About as long as there has been baseball. I know of no fights between players and umpires. There might have been years and years ago, I mean pre 1940's. In my day managers could come out on the field and argue balls and strikes, not so now.|||1871.
