How do I start a summer baseball camp?

My friend and I are experienced baseball players graduating college in May. We would love to get into coaching baseball and believe starting a summer baseball camp in our hometown of Weymouth, MA would be a great start. The only problem is we do not know the proper procedure to do so. What steps should we take in order to plan our camp? Are there any legal issues we should know about? Any advice would be great.|||More power to you. I was wanting to do the same thing. I just don't have the bread because the liability insurance is a killer.

Addendum: Rock Firestorm is right on. I gave him a thumbs up. However, I DID NOT give Jcc the thumbs down. That's in poor taste and uncalled for, imho.|||Town board meeting isn't going to do anything. I know you'd have to have a bond and be insured. You have to cover yourself in case anyone gets injured so it's not something you can just start up without any investment. You would essentially be a business and operate as a business - keeping in mind any client can get injured or seriously hurt so you have to be covered for this.|||Go to the next town board meeting. Tell them who you are, what you're idea is.. where and when do you want to hold it. How will you register kids, are you charging.. If you are charging, the money should be going towards the town kids league or the high school you represent.

Now, if you're a coach for a school, you could organzie it thru the school. it depends what your goals are, where you want to do it and for who.

Good Luck.
