How and where should baseball cards be sold?

My dad recently bought a baseball collection from an estate sale. The stuff had never been sorted through, and after doing so, we found some amazing stuff (signed baseballs, augtograhed posters cards, sheets of uncirculated cards). He asked me to try and help sell some of it for him, but the sheer volume that we have is making it ridiculously hard (we had to rent a storage unit to hold his stuff!).

I know a lot of things that we have aren't necessarily valuable. There are cards that we have a thousand of that may not be worth the box that they are in. I did a little research and found a pricing guide at beckett. But unless someone is looking for the card, it's not necessarily as valuable as they say it might be.

Other than ebay/yahoo auctions, is there a place to list the cards/other items we have to sell? Is it better to sell it to a store rather than list each of the cards separately? Or, if selling online, should I try to keep these in sets?|||If you have complete sets, definitely sell them as sets. If you break them up, you will never sell each individual card. EBAY is probably the website that you will get the most money for them, but it will be a lot of work to list them all, package and ship them. Definitely make sure you research the "worth" of the card before you start the auction. Also the condition of which the cards are in, play a major role in how much you will get for them.

As a huge baseball fan and a collector of cards for years, I'm excited just thinking about what you may have. Can I have a peak? :)

Enjoy.|||You could also look around your area to see if there are any upcoming card shows. A table can run anywhere from about 50-100$ for a weekend.|||I am a card buyer and seller, I would recommend selling them on eBay (most car shops want trade in and won't give you a lot of cash). Do not expect to get HI book for your cards in Beckett most sell for Low book value. also, eBay is a good place for selling cards as there are a lot of lookers, just make sure your auction title has the key words, and i would package some of the less worthy cards with some of the more valuable just to get rid of them.
